“I like working in the morning, when the bright daylight comes in. When wandering around with my cameras I use the available light to take my pictures. In the evenings I spend my time crafting or developing photos in the darkroom.“
What are you doing during the day?
I run a little handmade-label named wienkind, crafting jewelry out of my analogue photographs. Stevo plays the drums in the indie-band we walk walls. We are grateful for being able to live our creativity. Our home is an inspiring and yet quiet place where we cook, hang and reload our batteries.
What time do you usually get up?
We get up at around 7am, only on weekends we sleep in. However, we seldomly sleep later than 9am. We definitely like mornings!
How does your alarm sound?
Stevo: We both set our mobile phone alarms - a soothing melody that we hear a couple of times until we manage to get up.
What is the first thing you do in the morning?
Ena: The first thing I do in the morning - still wearing my pajamas - is tidying up the apartment, making it shiny and new for the day to come. After that I take a shower and wait for Stevo to make breakfast.
Stevo: I start my day in the bathroom. Then I run the dog and prepare a huge breakfast afterwards.
Do you like having breakfast? And what do you have?
Stevo: We both like having fresh orange juice, vegetables and eggs for breakfast. It gives you a lot of energy to start the day.
What time of the day are you most productive?
Ena: I like working in the morning, when the bright daylight comes in. When wandering around with my cameras I use the available light to take my pictures. In the evenings I spend my time crafting or developing photos in the darkroom.
Stevo: I don't mind working till late at night. When I come home late from rehearsal, Ena is already in bed.
Do you think sleep influences your work?
Ena: Sleep definilty has a huge impact on my work. A tired mind can't be creative. We have to deal with so many influences and stress throughout the day – sleep helps to clear and calm our minds. However, I need a little longer to calm my mind than Stevo does, hehe.
Do you think you get enough sleep?
Stevo: Most of the time, yes.
Where do you sleep best?
Stevo: In our bed. We invested in a good mattress.
Do you have any rituals before going to bed?
Ena: We figured that any episode of Columbo is perfect to fall asleep peacefully. We love Columbo.
Do you remember your dreams?
Stevo: Ena always remembers her dreams - I don't. So she does the storytelling part in the relationship and tells me about her adventures in her dreams.
Have you ever dreamt an idea that you brought to real life?
Ena: In fact, I did. Some months ago I dreamt we had black and white tiles on the bathroom floor and a few days afterwards I found myself home-improving. Things like that happen on a regular basis.
Do you care for what you're wearing to sleep?
Stevo: We are no fans of explicit nightwear with buttons and ribbons and all, but usually sleep in simple cotton-shirts and shorts.
Describe your bed in 3 words.
Ena: Freshly-washed cotton and linen
What is the most special spot you’ve ever fallen asleep?
Ena: We were celebrating midsummer with friends in a house by the Danube. When it got dark we laid down in sleeping bags on a big terrace overlooking the midsummer fires by the river.
What do you think happens while we sleep?
Stevo: Somehow our dog manages to climb into bed - unnoticed. It's magic.
How many sheep do you count?
Stevo: We stay awake for the first couple of scenes of Columbo. Until now, no sheep appeared.
Do you use a digital product / app to track your sleep?
Ena: No, we don't use any sleep tracker apps. Oh Gee! Don’t give Stevo any new ideas, please.
What do you want to dream about tonight?
Ena: I would like to dream about the Californian seaside and about a house in the woods. I sometimes get tired of the all the hustle and life in the city.
Stevo: I would love to dream about taking a flight around town. Just me and my pajamas.
